News of the Adam Ant Art book is spreading across the net, and the project has just been featured on Steve Spears’ Stuck in the 80s blog. The blog covers all aspects of eighties pop culture, from music to movies, TV and sport, and is part of the Florida St. Petersburg Times newspaper’s online presence.
Thanks to everyone who has put a link to adamantbook.com on their websites, blogs and MySpace pages. Registrations continue to come in, so it is all helping to make the book a reality! Don’t forget that if you haven’t already, you can use our banner graphics on your site.

The images posted here give a first look at a few of the pages inside the proposed Adam Ant Art book. It’s a luxuriously produced large format book with plenty of room to show off Adam’s fascinating artwork. These sketches and jottings – almost all of them never seen before - give a unique and very personal insight into Adam’s work and inspiration.
The images here show the opening pages from the ‘Sketches & Ideas’ chapter and three spreads from inside the chapter. These are:
- Cover ideas for Adam’s 1983 hit Puss ‘n Boots
- Set and costume designs for an appearance on the BBC’s Top of the Pops television show in 1983, sketched over a diary page
- Another diary page with jottings for the styling of the video to Strip, the follow-up single to Puss ‘n Boots. The subsequent video was famously banned by the BBC

As announced on adam-ant.net, we are very pleased to say that Adam has agreed to include a CD with the book which will feature songs recorded at last year’s Bloomsbury Theatre concert.
The concert, which took place on 24th September 2007, was the first time that Adam had played in many years and was received rapturously.
Exactly which songs will be included on the exclusive CD hasn’t yet been decided upon, but they will only be available as part of the book.

The Adam Ant Art project will only be viable if we can get sufficient interest, so it’s important that we let as many people as possible know about the project.
If you’d like to help, an easy way to do so is to add this site to your social bookmarks on sites like digg and del.icio.us, or to link to us on social networking sites like Facebook and MySpace.

Adam is considering putting together a new deluxe, illustrated book, provisionally titled Adam Ant Art.
It will be a very personal book from Adam that celebrates his artistic influences and inspirations, both musical and visual, and will include words and pictures on his musical and artistic heroes. The book will feature some of Adam’s unpublished original artworks, storyboards for videos, sketches, collages and original hand-written lyrics and lyrical ideas.
If this goes ahead it will be a lavish, full colour, hardback, priced at around £45. This special book will have a limited print run and will not be available in bookshops, it will be sold exclusively online, direct to Ant fans.
However, in order to proceed, we need to confirm a certain level of interest, otherwise the project may well need to be adapted due to the high costs involved in producing a book of this type.
You can register your interest in pre-ordering the book by entering your e-mail address in the box on this page. This is not a binding commitment and you will not be asked to part with any money at this stage. By registering your interest now you will help ensure the book does go ahead.
Once the ordering process begins you will be the first to know and, if you choose to purchase, guarantee yourself a copy of this special book from the limited run.
